Welcome to The Front Porch: Pull up a chair
Down Home NC launches a new storytelling publication for Rural, North Carolina.

There’s something special about a front porch in North Carolina. It’s where the day’s work is unpacked, where the sweet tea sweats in the glass, and where stories find their voice. It’s a place where you can be yourself, and where everyone is welcome.
We are so excited to welcome you to The Front Porch, a digital love letter and gathering place dedicated to the stories of rural North Carolina.
Here you’ll find the real heartbeat of our state: the tales of the farmer watching the sun rise over a old tobacco field, the keeper of a century-old family recipe, the high school coach who has shaped generations, and the quiet beauty of a small-town Saturday. Additionally, you’ll find the real stories about the impacts of the policy decisions made in Downtown Raleigh and Washington D.C. that shape our reality.
Check out our first three stories:
We’re so glad you’ve pulled up a chair. We hope The Front Porch feels like home.
Settle in and stay awhile. We’re just getting started.
Warmly,
Down Home Communications Team
The Front Porch
P.S. If you know someone who would appreciate a good story from rural North Carolina, please forward this email and invite them to join us on the porch.

Great to see these stories.
Do you know about this group? https://downhomenc.org/
Not sure if the two organizations communicate.
